'Save Doda- Save Nation' satyagraha by BJP

Hyderabad, Jun 4: Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today announced that the party would launch a satyagraha with the slogan 'Save Doda- save Nation'' in Jammu from June 7 to 15 in protest against the spurt in terrorist- related incidents.

Addressing the press here, Mr Naidu said the activists representing every state would participate in the ''satyagraha'' led by the senior leaders along with the local BJP activitsts in Jammu.

Alleging that the Centre had failed to control terrorist activities in Jammu province, especially in Doda district, in which dozens of hapless and innocent Hindus were killed, he said the party leaders and activities of every state would converge in Jammu each day and organise ''satyagraha'' during the nine days.

He demanded that the government must contain terrorist sponsored ethnic cleansing, deploy more military and security forces in Jammu, and strengthen the village defence committees by providing sophisticated weapons and communications systems.
