BUCHAREST, June 3: One fan was stabbed and two injured by stones in clashes before and after a Romanian second division match today, officials said.

Universitatea Craiova coach Ovidiu Stinga told reporters that his club would complain to the local governing body about the incidents after a 2-2 draw with Dinamo Bucharest's second team.

The match was interrupted for 10 minutes in the first half as police used tear gas to stop fighting in the stands. About 30 Universitatea Craiova fans were attacked by Dinamo supporters armed with stones, chains and baseball bats.

A police spokesman confirmed the stabbed supporter was taken to hospital and two others were slightly injured.

Also today, National Bucharest fans verbally assaulted and pushed the referee after their team lost 2-1 in a first division match against Dinamo Bucharest.
