Randhawa leapfrogs to tied 27th, Jeev tied 46th in Wales Open
Newport, Wales, June 4 (UNI) Jyoti Randhawa swung his way to the tied 27th place with a two-under 67 while compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh's second successive even-par round earned him a share of the 46th spot after the penultimate round of the Wales Open here.
Randhawa raised his game when he needed it most and after a rather poor second round of 70, the Indian was back in his elements at the Par-69 Celtic Manor Resort.
The highest ranked Indian golfer dropped a shot in each nine but sunk five birdies -- three in his front nine and two on his way back -- for a round of 67 that took his three-day tally to four-under 203.
Jeev, on the other hand, had a rather subdued day in which he mixed two bogeys with as many birdies and after rounds of 68, 69 and 69, the Volvo China Open winner Indian occupies the joint 46th place at one-under 207.
At the top of the table, Robert Karlsson swept six strokes clear of the field going into the final round and the Swede became the first player to break 190 for 54 holes.
