Precautionary measures taken to prevent Chicken Gunya outbreak

Mysore, June 4 (UNI) The City Corporation has decided to take up resurvey of various parts in the wake of suspected outbreak of 'Chicken Gunya' in the city Corporation Commissioner K N Chandrashekhar told reporters here today as many as 47 cases had so far been reported to have symptoms of the disease, but the real cause would be known only after results of the blood samples of these patients were received from the National Institute of Virology in Bangalore. The results were likely to be received tomorrow, he added.

As a precautionary measure, the Corporation had organised a health camp in the Jyothinagar police quarters, where 12 members of the police department were suspected to be affected by the disease.
