Nagari will be transformed into textile hub: AP CM
Nagari, Andhra Pradesh, June 4 (UNI) A textile park will be set up at Nagari town which accounts for 80 percent of the cotton produced in the state, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhara Reddy here.
Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone for Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi (GNSS) here, he said the park would benefit the weavers here as they market the cotton to neighbouring Tamil Nadu especially Chennai city.
Out of the 14 cotton mills in Chittoor district, 12 were in Nagari constituency where thousands of familes belongs to weavers community, he said.
The Chief Minister promised that the consituency would be developed into a textile hub.
