MCX COMDEX down 31.24 points

Mumbai, June 4 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) COMDEX closed at 2,293.30, down by 31.24 points (-1.36 per cent), during the week ended June one.

The recorded total weekly turnover was Rs 32,959.94 crore, according to a MCX weekly report.

The MCX metal index closed at 2562.66 down by 100.99 points (-3.94 per cent), while energy index was the lone gainer and closed at 2,739.38 up by 57.19 points (2.09 per cent) and agri index closed at 1,577.87 down by 49.90 points (-3.16 per cent).

All contracts of MCX gold were registered at a turnover of Rs 16,844.21 crore, while silver recorded a turnover of Rs 8,124.62 crore. The outstanding open interest for all contracts of gold was 7,671 kg and the total volume recorded was 1,72,927 kg. The outstanding position for all MCX silver contracts for the week was 2,73,510 kg and the total volume recorded was 41,98,930 kg.

In the metal segment, all MCX copper contracts registered a turnover of Rs 4,298.22 crore with open interest of 5,323 ton and recorded total volume of 1,142,890 ton, while all MCX zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 1,053.70 crore with open interest of 2,715 tons and recorded 61,345 tons as total volume.

All MCX aluminium contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 127.30 crore with open interest of 3,688 kg and recorded 9,934 kg as total volume.

In the energy segment, all MCX crude oil contract showed a turnover of Rs 913.68 crore with open interest of 3,17,800 BBL and total volume recorded was 27,64,900 BBL.

Following are the major commodities on the MCX : Chana contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 134.85 crore with open interest of 12,840 tons and total volume recorded was 53,220 tons.

mentha oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs 346.49 crore with open interest of 19,680 kg and total volume recorded was 60,06,240 kg, while refined soy oil contracts with open interest of 23,820 tons registered a turnover of Rs 523.81 crore and total volume recorded was 1,25,690 tons. Potato contracts registered a turnover of Rs 336.57 crore with open interest of 97,980 ton and total volume recorded was 5,54,520 tons.
