India economic independence is being attacked: Govindacharya
Jabalpur, June 4 (UNI) Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) leader K N Govindacharya has said the world's independence could be protected only if India's independence remained intact.
''India has always played the role of ''Vishwa Guru''. The world can remain independent only if India remained independent,'' Mr Govindacharaya said, while addressing a seminar on 'Relevance of Swadeshi: Global challenges and solution', organised here last night as a part of the SJM's two-day meeting.
''India has always shown the world the way to live with peace, brotherhood and dignity, while the western countries had adopted methods of harassment, oppression and attack,'' he said.
Mr Govindacharya said India had never unleashed an attack on any other country but the manner in which India's economic independence was being attacked was not a good indication for the world.
The SJM will fight for the country's economic independence. He claimed that agricultural production had not increased in the past 20 years but the government presented wrong facts regarding rise in production.
The SJM leader criticised the Brazilian agricultural model presented by the WTO for India alleging that the world body wanted that India's agriculture deteriorated like Brazil.
He added that public needed to think seriously over where the nation's irresponsible leadership was taking the country.
