Hooda announces Rs 385 crore scheme to upgrade power system

Chandigarh, Jun 4 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced the launch of a scheme of Rs 385 crore to further strengthen the power transmission and distribution system in the areas falling under Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN).

Mr Hooda told a gathering, after inaugurating a 33 KV sub-station at village Shobhapur near Narnaul, that as many as 48 substations of various capacities would be set up under the scheme to improve the power condition of this region.

The Chief Minister informed that the DHBVN had drafted a scheme to reinstall 360 feeders of extra load to improve the power supply system of this area. The entire system would be modified by dividing these feeders in two or three parts. Besides this, 4,200 additional transformers would also be set up and 1500 old transformers would be replaced with transformers of additional capacity.

Mr Hooda said that DHBVN and Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam had also prepared a comprehensive plan of Rs 21 crore to improve the power supply in Mehendergarh district.

He said that the villages which were paying power bills properly would be declared as model villages. The power supply of world class quality would be provided to these villages and as many as 10 such villages had been identified.

Irrigation and Revenue Minister Ajay Singh and Parliamentary Secretary, Rao Dan Singh, MLAs Naresh Yadav and Radhey Shayam Sharma were present on the occasion.
