High vigil being kept in Sensitive spots in Mah- Patil
Nagpur, June 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said a high alert has been sounded and strict vigil was being maintained on all sensitive points in the state in view of terrorist threat.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Patil said, ''Our Maharashtra police have been well trained and armed with enough equipment that can thwart any attempt by the militants. Our intelligence agency is getting all information which helps us to make strategies to eliminate terrorists as well as Naxalites,'' he said.
Mr Patil visited the site near RSS headquarters here, where police thwarted a terror attack.
A unit of the Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) would be set up in here and the announcement of its functioning would be made within 15 days, he added.
He also met RSS chief K C Sudarshan and sought cooperation of RSS functionaries in maintaining security cover around the RSS headquarters.
