Gunfight in Kashmir; arms seized

Baramulla, June 4 (UNI) Troops seized some arms and ammunition after a brief gunfight with the militants at Tantraypora near Pattan in this north Kashmir district today, official sources said.

They said security forces, on a tip-off, launched a search operation at Tantraypora village near Palhalan in Pattan area this afternoon.

The sources said the militants took a refuge in the house of Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat and started firing from there.

The security forces cordoned off the house and returned the fire, they added.

However, the militants had managed to escape from the scene before the security forces stormed the house.

Some arms and ammunitions were seized from the house.
