Former DIG shot at while resisting robbery attempt
Patna, Jun 4 (UNI) A former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) was shot at by assailants while trying to resist a robbery attempt at the Rajendra Nagar railway station today.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rail) Ajay Verma told UNI here that criminals shot at former DIG AK Singh when he resisted their attempts to rob his belongings. The incident took place when the former police official was about to board 2142 UP Lok Manya Tilak Express. Mr Singh was rushed to the Patna Medical College and Hospital with injuries below his ribs.
One man Ranjit Singh, a resident of Ara, has been arrested in this connection.
Further investigation was on.
