Eleven dead, 35 hurt in Bangladesh bus crash

Dhaka, Jun 4: At least 11 people were killed and 35 others injured today when a bus skidded off a highway and fell into a ditch in Bangladesh, police said.

''The speeding bus hit a roadside tree and then fell into a ditch at Mandartala early in the morning,'' said a police officer at Jessore, 275 km southwest of the capital Dhaka.

The bus with some 50 passengers was heading to southern Bagerhat district town from Dhaka.
