DPS opens branch in Gandhidham

Bhuj, June 4 (UNI) The Delhi Public School society today opened its 154th branch in Gandhidham town of the Kutch district.

Addressing a gathering DPS chairman Narendra Kumar said about five lakh students across the country are enrolled in DPS schools.

The society also has 26 branches abroad, he added.

He said as part of its social service programmes, the DPS has decided to impart free education to students from economically backward classes after school hours.

''These students will be provided free uniforms, books and will be allowed to use all infrastructure of the school. We have no government grants for the purpose,'' he said.

The Gandhidham schools will be run under the aegis of Padma Education and Welfare Society.
