Centre releases 35 cr for 12 NE districts under food for work prog

Aizawl, Jun 4 (UNI) About twelve districts in the North Eastern states wouldreceive Rs 35 crore under National Food for Work Programme (NFFWP).

The Centre has already released the allocated amount to various state governments in the region out of the total fund allocation of Rs 450 crores under NFFWP in 2005-06.

Under the programme, around 1.96 crore mandays of employment was generated in the region during the current year, official sources said here today.
