Buta offers his services to Cong high command

Jalandhar, Jun 4 (UNI) Expressing a desire to continue in active politics, former Bihar Governor Buta Singh today offered his services to the Congress high command.

''I am very well in the active politics and ready to take any responsibility or task assigned by the Congress leadership'', Mr Singh told UNI here.

He said that it was the Congress leadership which decided to send him to Patna Raj Bhawan and he had obeyed.

Soon after his resignation from the post of governor he had offered his services to the party high command for any role or responsibility.

On whether he would contest the next general election, Mr Singh said that the party could take a decision in this regard and he would abide by the party directives.

Mr Singh said that neither he had ever applied for party ticket nor opted for a parliamentary constituency but merely followed the party directives.

He said that it was the Congress leadership which directed him to move out to Rajasthan to contest Lok Sabha election and in future too his plans would be decided by the party only.

Mr Singh arrived here this afternoon on a private visit.
