Borde hails Sachin's decision of not playing until fully fit
Tiruchirapalli, Jun 4 (UNI) The decision of opting out of the West Indies tour might have been a heartbreak for the fans who were eagerly waiting for Sachin Tendulkar's much awaited comeback but Chandu Borde has hailed the master blaster's decision of not playing until he is ''hundred per cent fit''.
Talking to newspersons here, former India batsman and chairman of selection committee said a player must be fully fit to play at international level.
''In fact, Sachin should have taken the decision even earlier,'' Brode said.
Borde advised Sachin to play local matches first and then first class cricket to regain him form, rhythm and confidence.
He said the Australian players followed this strategy to get back into shape after injuries.
''They play local matches before coming back into ODIs or Test matches,'' he added.
