BJP to launch satyagraha for 'Save Doda- Save Nation' from June 7

Hyderabad, Jun 4 (UNI) Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today announced that the party would launch a satyagraha 'Save Doda- save Nation'' in Jammu from June seven to 15 in protest against the spurt in terrorist related incidents there.

Addressing the press here, Mr Naidu said the activists representing every state would participate in the ''satyagraha'' led by the senior leaders along with the local BJP workers in Jammu.

Alleging that the centre had failed to control terrorist activities in Jammu, especially in Doda district, in which dozens of hapless and innocent Hindus were killed, he said the party leaders and workers from across the country would converge in Jammu each day and organise ''satyagraha'' during the nine-days long movement.

He demanded that the government must contain terrorists sponsored ''ethnic cleansing,'' deploy more military and security forces in Jammu, and strengthen the village defence committees by providing sophisticated weapons and communications systems.

Alleging that the UPA did not have the required courage to avert the impending ''disaster-migration'' of Hindus in Jammu, Mr Naidu pointed out that the recent statements of Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Jammu and Kashmir Chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had the potential to queer the pitch in Kashmir and has ''emboldened terrorists.''
