Shillong, Jun 4: Lok Janshakti Party national president Ram Vilas Paswan today charged the BJP with maintaining hypocrisy regarding Office of Profit, saying they were indulging in the same practice in Jharkhand and simultaneously raising hue and cry over the issue in Delhi.

Attacking the saffron brigade for playing ''double standard'' on the issue, Mr Paswan said the NDA government, led by Mr Arjun Munda in Jharkhand, was appointing several MLAS as chairmen.

He said, '' In Jharkhand, the BJP has appointed MLAs to save the government and in Delhi they are shouting slogans on office of profit. Why this double standard? '' There was nothing wrong in the President returning the legislation seeking amendment of the Office of Profit Bill, he said.

Though he remained tightlipped on different political parties' stand on the issue, he, however, said, '' Thankfully none from our party is involved in the row. '' The LJP leader said all political parties were in favour of the Amendment Bill.

Mr Paswan said the ruling Congress-led UPA government would again study on the Amendment Bill before taking to Parliament.
