3 friends drown in Narmada river near Ankleswar
Vadodara, June 4 (UNI) In a tragic mishap, three young friends met with a watery grave in the Narmada river near Sarfuddin village in Ankleswar, about 90 km from here today.
Ankleswar rural police sources said the trio, identified as Shailesh Patel (22), Manish Patel (24) and Chinta Solanki (25), were all residents of Chauta Bazar in the city.
While taking bath in the river, Shailesh was reportedly swept away by the strong flow in the water and the other two also drowned in a bid to rescue Shailesh.
Firebrigade personnel, who rushed to the spot from Ankleswar, retrieved the bodies of the trio after two-hour-long search operation. The bodies were later sent to the Sajod hospital for post-mortem.
