Three get life for dowry death

Hardwar, June 3: The second fast track court of the Additional Sessions Judge R D Paliwal sentenced three people to life imprisonment last evening in a case of dowry death.

Additional district government counsel Kushal Pal Singh Chauhan said Museeda was tortured for dowry by her husband, Shamshad, father-in-law Inam&mother-in-law Nafisa. When her parents failed to satisfy their dowry demands, they allegedly burnt her by pouring kerosene on her on August 4, 1995. The father of the bride filed a report in Bhagwanpur police station of the district the same day against all the three accused.

After hearing both the sides and examining all the evidences, the additional sessions judge found all the three accused guilty under section 304B/34 of the IPC and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
