Sahil is innocent : Lawyer

Srinagar, June 3 (UNI) Sahil's lawyer Mohammad Aslam Goni today came out in support of his client saying he was innocent and being framed in the Rahul Mahajan case.

He said Sahil surrendered before Jammu and Kahsmir Police here on his advice.

''I advised Sahil to surrender after lsitening to the entire story,'' Mr Goni said, adding Sahil was ready to cooperate with the investigative agency.

He said Sahil should have surrendered before Delhi police, but was terrified since he is a Kashmiri and decided to surrender here.

Sahil arrived here from Delhi yesterday and surrendered today, he added.

Mr Goni admitted that Sahil was present at the house of Mahajan along with others.

Sahil is fond of attending parties and has many friends in Mumbai and Delhi, Mr Goni said.

Mr Goni admitted that Sahil tasted some powder in Mahajan's house but asserted that Sahil is not an alcoholic or a drug addict.

''Sources have told me that after tasting the powder he fell ill and was taken to a nursing home by another youth who was also present in Mahajan's house,'' he said.

Mr Goni said Sahil was later dropped by the same youth at the Delhi airport.
