RJD flays Bihar govt for 'ill' treatment to Shahabuddin

Patna, Jun 3 (UNI) Charging the Nitish government of being "insensitive" to the deteriorating health of RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin, the BJP today blamed the district administration of adopting a "callous" attitude and "deliberately depriving" the RJD leader from better medical facilities.

RJD workers staged a protest march to express their resentment over the "step motherly" treatment being meted out to incarcerated RJD MP. They also burnt Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in effigy near Kargil Chowk here.

During the protest march, RJD workers raised slogans demanding a thorough probe into the alleged atrocities committed against the RJD MP. A high level parliamentary committee should be formed to inquire into the 'ill treatment' meted out to Mohammad Shahabuddin, RJD workers further demanded.

RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin was lodged at Bhagalpur Central Jail on November 5 and later shifted to Siwan jail in connection with different criminal cases.
