Rain claims one life in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, June 3 (UNI) A 65-yr-old man died in Bhogavati river flood waters near Koge dam in Karvir tehsil of the district yesterday.

Police today said the deceased has been identified as - Pandurang Varute of Kasaba-Beed village. He died when he fell into the river while trying to cross the overflowing river bridge, police said.

All rivers in the district including the main Panchaganga river are in spate following moderate-to-heavy rains for the past six days here.
