Pramod Mahajan's ashes immersed in Brahmaputra

Guwahati, Jun 3 (UNI) The Asom BJP today immersed the ashes of Pramod Mahajan in Brahmaputra in the absence of his son Rahul Mahajan, who was recovering at a hospital in New Delhi from suspected poisoning.

Rahul was supposed to reach here today to immerse his father's ashes and launch his political career.

He was admitted to Indrapratha Apollo Hospial yesterday with suspected consumption of drugs.

The entire state BJP top brass was present on the occasion, including party state president Indromoni Bora, North East organisational secretary V Satish, Former Union Minister Bijoya Chakravarty and General Secretary Dhruva Baishya.

The immersion was done at the Sulkeshwar ghat.

Under the late BJP leader, the party improved its position in the state.
