One files nominations for Pondy local body poll

Pondicherry, June 3 (UNI) One person filed his nomination papers today on the opening day for filing nominations for the June 24 first phase local body elections in the Union Territory of Pondicherry.

Three municipalities and five community panchayats would go to the polls in the first phase, State Election Department sources said.

S Abdul Bari filed his papers for the post of village panchayat member from Neravy.

Nominations for first phase poll would come to an end on June 10.
