MCX index closes 12.89 pts up at 2,328.50

Mumbai, Jun 3 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 431.82 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,328.50, up by 12.89 points (0.55 per cent).

The total trades registered were 10,672.

The MCX metal index closed at 2,587.81 up by 3.51 points (0.14 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2,759.80 up by 6.53 points (0.24 per cent) and MCX agri index closed at 1,637.89 up by 28.61 (1.75 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 151.06 crore, including various MCX gold at Rs 108.88 crore and MCX silver at Rs 42.17 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 1,992. The open interest for gold was 7,354 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,72,410 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 17.48 crore with 310 trades, while MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 3.52 crore with 41 trades.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 12.53 crore with open interest of 3,29,700 BBL.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 36.12 crore with 1,666 trades and mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 50.13 crore with 2,727 trades while chana registered a turnover of Rs 18.66 crore with 616 trades.

MCX gold June-06 closed at Rs 9,477 up by Rs 62 (0.65 per cent), August closed at Rs 9,644 up by Rs 11 (0.11 per cent) and October closed at Rs 9,830 up by Rs 4 (0.04 per cent).

MCX silver July-06 closed at Rs 18,706 up by Rs 24 (0.13 per cent), September closed at Rs 19,166 down by Rs 52 (-0.27 per cent) and December closed at Rs 19,574 down by Rs 242 (-1.24 per cent).
