New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) The Congress today said the success of the party in the Karnataka Legislative Council elections has enthused the rank and file of the party throughout the state while it has sent shock waves in the ranks of BJP-JD(S) combine.

The BJP-JD (S) combine is now blaming Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy for proving no match to Dharam Singh-Kharge team of the Congress in the State, AICC Secretary in-charge of Karnataka Mr Praveen Dawar told UNI here.

Despite the Congress having a strength of 65 MLAs against the combined strength of 138 MLAs of the BJP-JD(S) combine, the Congress has won four of the eleven seats in the elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council held in Bangalore yesterday, Mr Dawar added.

The Congress, which was expected to win only three seats based on its numerical strength, managed to win the fourth seat due to a proper strategy devised a couple of days before the elections, he noted.

On the other hand, the distrust among the BJP-JD(S) combine has cost them the eleventh seat they were sure of winning on the basis of their clear numerical advantage of having almost double the number, Mr Dawar said.
