Indonesia relaxes visa formalities: Kumar
Chennai, June 3: Indonesia has relaxed visa formalities to enable more Indian tourists to visit the country, Honorary Consul, Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia, Chennai, K J Kumar, said today.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Kumar said Indonesia has relaxed visa formalities for Indian tourists by implementing 'Visa-on-arrival' scheme.
''All Indian tourists can obtain visas on arrival at the airports in Indonesia for one or two weeks,'' he added.
Mr Kumar said for business and 'immigration,' visas could be obtained from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, New Delhi and the Consulate General, Mumbai, through the Honorary Consulate at Chennai.
He said the new Honorary Consulate office would be inaugurated on June five by Indonesia Ambassador to India Donnilo Anwar.
Mr Kumar also requested the people of Chennai to donate liberally for the victims of earthquake, which rocked Indonesia last week.
