Governor stresses on creating HIV awareness

Agartala, Jun 2 (UNI) Tripura Governor D N Sahaya has stressed on creating necessary awareness and disseminating knowledge about the consequences of HIV among the people and especially youth.

In order to reach out to those segments and provide it a momentum the governor had taken steps to form Red Ribbon clubs in colleges and dovetail their activities with the state branch of the Indian Red Cross Society.

In order to give a shape to the Red Ribbon clubs and gear up its activities the governor is holding a meeting with senior officials of the health and social welfare departments, state AIDS control society, the Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University,Principals of the colleges, District Magistrates and Tripura state branch of the Indian Red Cross Society later this month.
