Five Mukhiya candidates arrested for attempting immolation

Saharsa, Jun 3 (UNI) Five Mukhiya candidates and one Sarpanch candidate were arrested when they tried to immolate themselves today in protest against non fulfillment of their demands for repolling under Kadrumar and Belwara blocks in Saharsa district.

Official sources said the Mukhiya candidates of Kadrumar block and one Sarpanch candidate of Belwara block were demanding repolling in the respective panchayats alleging largescale irregularities committed during the polling in Panchayat elections on May 21.

Those who were arrested include Ashok Singh, Angad Chaudhary, Mohan Yadav, Satyanarain Yadav and Ranvijay Yaday-- all Mukhiya candidates of Kadrumar block while Vakil Sah was the Sarpanch candidate from Belwara block.
