Agitation threat to JD(S)

Bangalore, June 3 (UNI) Former Minister H S Vishwanath today threatened to launch an agitation against the Janata Dal (Secular) if it indulged in ''vindictive politics'' against former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Taking part in the All India Kuruba Women Convention here, he said the Ahinda movement would accept it as a challenge if JD(S) took any vindictive action against Mr Siddaramaiah, a prominent Kuruba leader in the State.

Mr Vishwanath welcomed the support extended by Mr Siddaramaiah to the Congress to elect Mr V R Sudarshan to the Legislative Council.

He said the All India Kuruba Mahasabha would be formed by August in Mumbai to show its presence and fight for its rights at the national level.

Mr Siddaramaiah said the Kurubas, a pastoral community, was yet to organise itself in several states, except in Karnataka, to assert its rights.

He criticised JD(S) President and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda for indulging in vindictive politics against him and his community.
