ADB clears Bisalpur water project

Jaipur, Jun 3 (UNI) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has cleared the Rs 550 crore-Bisalpur water project of procedural formalities to take it to the implementation stage.

With ADB's clearance, the job for bringing drinking water to Jaipur now lies with Larsen&Toubro Ltd who will complete the work at a total contract price of Rs 4,816,861,670 including the works contract for Rs 4,750,030,466.

The two main important components in the project are laying of the pipelines and construction of pumping stations at Surjapura and Balyawal. The project is expected to be completed by March 31,2008.

The ADB headquarters in Manila cleared the project yesterday.

Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project Director Praveen Gupta held a meeting with ADB country director Tadashi Kondo in Delhi recently, which led to ADB giving the clearance.

The work order remains to be given.
