Undertrial hurls bomb on judge
Faizabad, June 1 (UNI) An undertrial allegedly attempted to kill a judge in Faizabad district today by hurling a crude bomb on him during a case hearing.
However, Gangster Court judge Vinod Kumar Mishra escaped unhurt, since the bomb was defused before it could explode near him.
Undertrial Triyug Narain was standing in the witness box for his case hearing, when he committed the crime, police said.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, district judge R P Shukla held the policemen responsible for laxity, in letting the undertrial carry the bomb.
He sought to know why the undertrial was not frisked before entering the court premises.
Meanwhile, officiating district magistrate Narendra Singh Patel had directed to lodge a case against guilty policemen. One policeman has been suspended in the case.
