Tidal wave sweeps away 4 near Somnath, one still missing

Junagadh, June 1 (UNI) A tidal wave, accompanied with strong winds, swept away four persons, including two siblings from Delhi and two women from the beach near the famous Somnath Temple on the Saurashtra coast today.

Police said the tourists were enjoying themselves at the beach, when a high wave accompanied with strong winds swept them away.

While the two women and one boy were rescued, his elder brother could not be located till late evening, police said.

The missing boy was identified as Param Omprakash (8), while the rescued were identified as Devam Omprakash (5), Divyaben Pramodbhai (25) of Rajkot and Manjulaben Rameshbhai (45) of Uttar Pradesh, police said, adding the two brothers had come with 12 other family members of Rajmohan Mudgal of Faridabad, police added.
