Three hundred varieties of mangoes on display
Hyderabad, June 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy today inaugurated a mango exhibition in which 300 varieties of enticing mangoes were on display.
Farmers from different parts of the country brought rare varieties of mangoes for display in the exhibition, meant to create awareness among the farmers on the benefits of raising mango crop.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said though Andhra Pradesh was producing most of the varieties of mangoes, it was unable to export as there were no storage facilities.
He said the technology available was able to preserve the fruits only for 12 days. Hence the state was unable to export it to far off places.
