TDP will not cross two digits in local body polls: YSR

Hyderabad, Jun 1 (UNI) Even as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) held the annual conclave 'Mahanadu' on a grand scale at Rajahmundry in East Godavari district to galvanise the party mechanism for the ensuing panchayat polls, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said the opposition was unlikely to get more than two-digit numbers at the hustings.

In an informal chat with newsmen here, Dr Reddy said the Congress was fully geared to face the elections.

He said though an understanding had not yet been reached with its Assembly election ally Telangana Rashtra Samiti, the local leadership would adopt such strategy as was necessary to defeat the TDP.
