Petition filed against DM

Hajipur, Jun 01 (UNI) Former Vaishali district board chairman Umesh Prasad Rai today filed a petition in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Hajipur against District Magistrate (DM) of Vaishali Sanjeev Hans and his bodyguards for allegedly assaulting him.

Mr Rai in his petition had accused the DM of assaulting him when he was campaigning in favour of his wife for the ongoing Panchayat election at Milki village in Vaishali district on May 20.

The petitioner alleged that the DM ordered his bodyguards to beat him to death without any provocation.

He said he lost his consciousness as bodyguards started beating him mercilessly.

Mr Rai in his petition claimed that later he was admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital.
