No deadline for issue of ration cards
Hyderabad, Jun 1 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided not to impose any deadline for issue of new ration cards across the state.
Addressing newsmen here today, Agriculture and Civil Supplies Minister N Raghuveera Reddy said except for Hyderabad City, the Civil Supplies Department had achieved 100 per cent results in respect of distribution of ration cards to people living in all municipalities in the state.
There would be no deadline for issue of new ration cards to all eligible families in the state. The ongoing process would be completed at the earliest.
The Minister further said the target to complete distribution of new ration cards to all eligible families in the state could not be achieved by end of May (the deadline earlier imposed by the government) due to various reasons, including technical snags. So far, about 47 per cent of ration cards had already been distributed among 'eligible' rural families, he added.
