Microsoft to host Asia's largest IT event

Bangalore, June 1 (UNI) Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd today announced that it will host Asia's largest IT event - Tech Ed 2006 for the tenth successive year.

For the first time, the event would be hosted in six cities, starting from New Delhi on June five and then moving to Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and concluding in Bangalore on June 24.

It would take place over a span of three days in each city, a company release here said today.

Targeted at the developer, IT professional and architect communities, Tech Ed was aimed at providing insights into how to build, deploy, secure and manage solutions using the full range of current and upcoming Microsoft products and technologies. The focus for this year's event would be on Microsoft's upcoming products and technologies - Windows Vista, Office 12 and Windows CE 6.0 Yamazaki, the release said.

About 7,000 participants from several companies, including Wipro, TCS, Infosys, HCL, HP, Accenture and Cognizant, were expected to attend the event. More than 60 sessions would be delivered by 40 speakers from the industry, Microsoft's partners and Microsoft.

Ms Sheila Gulati, Director - Developer and Platform Evangelism, Microsoft India, said ''Based on constant feedback from the community, this year we are implementing a new format where different modules have been created for developers, IT professionals and software architects to suit their individual preferences and technology needs.
