Metro RTV feeder link bus fare structure rationalised
New Delhi, Jun 1 (UNI) In order to benefit passengers who travel for short distances on RTV feeder buses connecting Delhi Metro stations, the fare structure of these buses is being changed to make it similar to the Delhi Transport Corporation fare structure.
While earlier a uniform rate of Rs five was charged from each passenger irrespective of the distance traveled, the new fares would be Rs two, five, seven and ten depending on the distance travelled.
The fares for different distance slabs would be as follows: After the new fare structure was implemented, shortly, Rs two would be charged for an adult while Rs one for a child for a distance upto four km, Rs five (adult) and Rs three (child) for distances between four and eight km, Rs seven (adult) and Rs four (child) for distances between eight and 12 km and Rs ten (adult) and Rs five (child) for distances more than 12 km.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is in the process of notifying the new fare structure which will come into effect soon.
At present, 147 RTV buses connected stations of Delhi Metro's Line-1 where the State Transport Authority (STA) had approved 30 RTV feeder bus routes. On Line-3 (including Dwarka sub-city), 36 RTV feeder routes had been approved and 96 RTVs were plying on these.
Metro RTV feeder buses bore the same colour (silver) as Metro trains and also had the Metro logo on them.
In addition, DTC operated feeder services on more than 30 routes on Line-1.
DTC was also running an interstate feeder bus service between Dwarka Sector-9 station and Gurgaon bus stand and had made slight alteration to the routes of two of its buses so that these now touched Dwarka Sector-9 station.
