Maruti sales up by 27% in May

New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) Car market leaders Maruti Udyog Ltd today said its domestic market sales rose by 27 per cent having sold 50,904 vehicles in May as compared to 40,006 vehicles in the corresponding period last year.

The company in all sold 53,396 vehicles in the month, including 2,492 units of exports.

Maruti's volume in the domestic A2 segment constituting Alto, WagonR, Zen and Swift grew by 38.56 per cent.

The A3 comprising models like Baleno, Esteem and the A1 segments with M800, Omni and Versa recorded growth by 9.93 per cent and 10.25 per cent respectively during the month as compared to sales in May 2005.
