Hyderabad, Jun 1 (UNI) The BJP today claimed the country could have achieved ten per cent growth but for the hurdles put by the Left in the path of UPA Government and ''mismanagement'' of foreign exchange reserves.

Speaking to newsmen here, party spokesman Mr Prakash Javedkar said the country could achieve eight per cent growth due to the efforts of the previous NDA Government.

''The UPA Government should have achieved ten per cent growth by now. One per cent of growth was hampered by the Left and due to not effectively utilising the foreign exchange reserves,'' he pointed out.

Mr Javedkar said for every economic programme in the country, Left parties had become 'road blocks' and 'speed-breakers.' This attitude was sending wrong signals abroad, he claimed.
