K'taka Council polls: polling begins
Bangalore, June 1 (UNI) Polling of votes for the biennial elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council, to elect 11 members from the Assembly constituency, began at 0900 hrs today.
Four candidates each from the Congress, the BJP and JD (S) are in the fray for the 11 vacancies, to be filled by the 225-member Legislative Assembly (including nominated member).
The candidates in the fray are Mr D S Veeraiah, Mr Thontadarya, Vimala Gowda and Mr Janardhan Reddy (BJP), Mr Chikkamaadu, Mr Abdul Ajeem, Mr H C Neeravari and Mr K Amarnath Shetty (JD-S) and Mr K C Kondaiah, Mr C Motamma, Mr Arshad Ali and Mr V R Sudarshan (Congress).
Polling would go on till 1500 hrs and results would be announced by this evening.
