Husband kills wife for practising witchcraft
Jamshedpur, Jun 1 (UNI) A person burnt alive his wife accusing her of practising witchcraft at Dalaikela village under Kharsawan police station in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district yesterday.
Police today said Sahadev Mandal suspecting his wife Manju (25) of being a witch, set her body on fire after pouring kerosene. The woman died later.
Before police arrived the husband and other family members fled fom the scene. Only the five-year old boy of the deceased and her 80-year old father-in-law were in the house.
The boy later told the police about the incident. The family members of the deceased said her husband used to torture her regularly on the pretext of being a witch, police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem . Police is investigating the case.
