Governor, CM praise ploice for thwarting terrorist bid
Mumbai, Jun 1 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna has strongly condemned the planned terrorist attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur in the wee hours today which was successfully foiled by the police.
In a message here, Mr Krishna said he was aghast to learn about the terror bid on the RSS headquarters.
While congratulating the Maharashtra Police for foiling the attack, the Governor urged the people to stay united in the nation's fight against terrorism.' Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has also praised the state police for thwarting the terrorist bid. The police personnel involved in the encounter with the militants would be felicitated, he said.
Mr Deshmukh, while speaking to reporters at the Vidhan Bhavan, said the State Police and the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) had excellent co-ordination with the central intelligence agencies to keep an eye on terrorist activities.
Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil also lauded the police and said the state law enforcing machinery was capable of foiling divisive activities which could harm the interests of the nation.
