Former JK Minister manhandled; police register case
Srinagar, Jun 1 (UNI) Police have registered a case in connection with the manhandling of a former Jammu and Kashmir Minister at Handwara in Kupwara district yesterday, official sources today.
They said former Forests Minister Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Sofi was allegedly manhandled by some people at Handwara as he was returning home after offering condolences to the family members of the school children and teachers who drowned in the Wullar Lake on May 30.
The sources said the former Minister later lodged a complaint with the Handwara Police Station.
Police have registered a case and launched investigations.
Mr Sofi is the sitting legislator from Handwara.
