FIR registered against BSF for allegedly shooting down youth

Jammu, June 1 (UNI) A murder case has been registered against the Border Security Force (BSF) at the R S Pura police station for allegedly shooting down a local youth and citing it a case of infiltration.

According to police sources, the FIR was lodged under section 302 of IPC when Vimla Devi, mother of Vikram Singh alias Vicky, accused the BSF of murdering her son on May 29.

BSF had shot down a youth while allegedly infiltrating from Pakistan across the border. They handed over the body to police and registered a case of infiltration in the same police station.

Later, when the news flashed, people in the Abdulia village indentified the youth as being local and accused the BSF of murdering him. They have been staging demonstrations against it for the last two days.

Sources confirmed that while a postmortom of the body was done, the report is yet to be received. The police have also recorded the statement of the complainant and is chalking out strategy to take up the case with BSF officials.
