Enowment Department proposes move to protect temple lands
Visakhapatnam, Jun 1 (UNI) As part of its efforts to protect temple lands, the State Endowments Departments today decided to offer incentives to people who pass on information about irregularities corcerning the temple lands Speaking to newspersons here, state deputy commissioner of Endowments K Ramachandra Mohan said it thought of launching a public- private partnership initiative to protect the temple properties.
He asserted that safeguarding the temple properties and evicting the encroachers were among the top priorities of the department.
"Financing would be done for the temples lands and, boards would be displayed bearing warning against encrochement", he said.
Briefing about the properties, he said the Deartment owned 19,000 acres of land in Visakhapatnam, 15,500 in Vizianagaram and 11,000 in Srikakulam districts .
Speaking about the move to increase lease rents, he said fresh tenders would be called.
