Dalit atrocities increasing in Rajasthan: Congress
Jaipur, Jun 1 (UNI) All India Congress Committee's secretary K. V Krishnamurthy has accused home minister Gulab Chand Kataria's relatives of stopping a Dalit groom from riding a horse during his marriage.
Addressing a press meet here today, he said the BJP government is trying to brush the issue under the carpet as the culprits were relatives of Mr Kataria and have not been apprehended till now.
He said a Dalit groom was forced to alight from his horse in Amrapur village in Udaipur district by some people, who were later found to be relatives of the home minister.
Citing the rising number of rape cases in Rajasthan, he said three rapes occur on an average in a day, while eight cases of eve -teasing, 37 cases of atrocities against women and five cases of kidnaping occur everyday.
