Bangalore-bound Tipu Express detained by agitators
Mysore, June 1 (UNI) Over 100 activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike today detained the Bangalore-bound Tipu Express for some time here, demanding that the Union Government accord classical language status to Kannada.
The agitators shouted slogans against intellectuals opposing the move and warned of staging dharnas in front of their houses if they did not cooperate in the issue.
The Vedike members also staged a protest in Mandya town to press the demand.
